Neck Pain (cevicalgia)

 NECK PAIN 

Neck pain is also known as cervical pain, it occurs by any type of injury, inflammation or stiffness to the bones, ligaments or the muscles near the neck area.  

Some people suffer from severe neck pain which takes a long period of time to get better and others suffer from mild neck pain which takes at least a week to get normal.

SYMPTOMS

The signs of you getting cervicalgia are very simple and easily understandable without using any instrument or equipment. The symptoms are: 

HEADACHE: 

When you have headache, and your neck starts feeling heavy and the pain is completely unbearable.  

STUCKNESS:  

When you feel that you are unable to move your neck like you used to move it before, you feel like it is stiffed or stuck before turning or moving it then you may have cervicalgia. 

NUMBNESS: 

Another symptom of having cervicalgia is that many sometimes, you don't feel your neck.

CAUSES OF NECK PAIN 

SLEEPING IN BAD POSTURE: 

Many people hurt themselves while they are sleeping because they sleep in in bad posture which can lead them to mild or severe neck pain. 

INJURY: 

Injuries such as accidents, falling or getting sudden shock can also be the reason of getting neck pain or cervicalgia.  

STRAIN: 

Strain is also the cause of getting caught by neck pain, like working most of the time while sitting in same posture or bending your neck too much.


SOME MEDICAL ISSUES THAT CAUSE CERVICALGIA 

OSTEOPROSIS 

The medical condition in which the bones become weak and start to hurt even when you are sitting still, this can also be the cause of having severe or mild neck pain. 

SPONDYLOSIS 

The condition which occurs at certain age when your disks start to lose their control or lack to function properly is known as spondylosis, this also become the reason of having neck pain or cervicalgia.  


WHEN TO WORRY AND VISIT DOCTOR? 

There are some conditions, whenever you feel like you are having these problems you should visit the doctor: 

Fever  

Headache  

Weakness  

Stiffness  

Tingling  

Being unable to move  

Being unable to do work properly

TREATMENT  

Whenever you visit the doctor, they may advice you to have these treatments: 

Pain killers  

Doctors' advice and prescribe some pain medication for the relief and you should follow the instructions of your consultant or doctor to get rid of this cervical or neck pain. 

Physical Therapy 

The best way to get relief from any type of pain in body you should do certain stretches or get physical therapy to smooth and strengthen the muscles and bones. 

Exercise  

Exercise is also the efficient way of getting relief from mild pains in bones and muscles.  

Neck Band  

Usually, neckband is prescribed to some patient that would help them in holding their head in position and to avoid any kind of shock on neck while sitting or moving that can cause the pain again.  

Ice and Heat Therapy  

Ice and heat therapy is the most effective treatment to reduce swelling or smoothing the blood flow. This therapy can help a lot to reduce you pain. 

Massage 

Massage is also easy and effective treatment for the mild to severe pains. Using different herbal oils to massage will have great impact on reducing the pain and smoothing the muscles.
